A J Ryder Plumbing Service has been established since 2005. Prior to setting up the plumbing business, Andy worked on the family farm and has years of experience in a all aspects of a working farm, from looking after livestock to engineering, project managing building maintenance and repairs. Since setting the plumbing business up, Andy’s plumbing portfolio has gone from strength to strength working with private home owners, estate agents and land owners within the North Yorkshire area.
With the legislation guidance being highlighted within the residential lettings industry on Legionella Risk Assessment, Andy qualified as a City & Guilds, Legionella Risk Assessor, providing the landlord a detailed risk assessment report of their property, this provides an additional service to the estate agencies as well as the regular plumbing services.
In January 2016, Andy’s wife Claire joined the business. Claire worked in the Residential Lettings industry as a Lettings Manager for over ten years for a local estate agent. During this time she managed a portfolio of 300 properties over two branches and trained to the recognised industry qualification ARLA (Association of Residential Lettings Agents).
Claire has also qualified as a City & Guilds, Legionella Risk Assessor.
Claire can provide landlords and agents with legislation guidance, on the ever changing industry with regards to the following:

- PAT testing,
- Landlord Gas Certificates,
